UN Cruise Adventures' S.S. Legacy more than triples oil change intervals on both main engines with BestLine Diesel Engine Treatment.
9-24-2016. In an effort to reduce operating costs, and improve engine efficiencies, the passenger cruise vessel, S.S. Legacy, of Un Cruise Adventures, treated both of their Caterpillar 3512 main propulsion engines, each rated at 1150 HP, with BestLine Diesel Engine treatment.
This vessel operates on both the Columbia River and along the Alaskan Coast providing their clients very intimate environmental cruising experience
In addition to reducing engine operating costs, Un Cruise Adventures has a significant goal to reduce their environmental footprint. This year they were able to accomplish that by being able to safely and successfully extend their oil change intervals. In the prior year during the same operating season, the crew changed oil four times. This year they only had to change oil once at the beginning of the season, they added the BestLine Diesel Engine Treatment and based on their review of their oil samples, they were able to operate the engines for the entire season resulting in a savings of over $11,940.00 and substantially reduce their GHG and CO2 environmental impact.
